And this is the last of our newest courses [at least for now :-D] and this was strictly based on demand. We had been getting requests for this and after a lady placed yet another request for this early this year, I thought to myself – sure why not?! And here it is – our Short Course in Corsetry! 😀
Oh how I love corsets! The structure, the fit – pretty much everything about it! A well built corset is just amazing and of all the things I learnt in fashion school, this was no doubt one of my favorites!
SO just a quick one to tell you all about the Course even though the flyer pretty much has all the details…
So this is an advanced sewing course for anyone who really wants to focus on bridal wear. Though truth be told, corsetry is not only used for wedding gowns. They can even be worn casually as waist corsets and can be made from any fabric. I know I made one for myself from denim and I wear them with jeans over a top or shirt. SO it can be as versatile as you want it to be.
NOTE that you must be able to sew to attend this Course and you must be quite experienced in dressmaking as we will only focus on the corsets.
If you are a beginner, you would have to register for our Beginners Course. Click here for more details.
What Will You Learn?
You will learn how to take accurate body measurements, how to create the pattern, and of course, how to build a corset from scratch! Oh… and we’ll even throw in lace moulding as well. Trust me, you will LOVE the Course!
The Course begins on 7 March, 2017 and will last for 6 weeks. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 4pm. More than enough time for us to leave before the rush hour traffic begins. 🙂
