Of course. The MFC was developed specifically for beginners and many of our students could not thread sewing machines when they started the Course… but they learnt and are now churning out work. So don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine!
You will however, have to start from the Short Fashion Course for Beginners and take it from there.
I can already sew and would consider myself quite experienced. Can I start from a more advanced level?
Yes. If you can already sew, you may choose to register for any of the other Courses other than the Beginners Course, except Bodices Part 2. You must have completed Part 1 of the Bodices Course before you move to Part 2.
Please note, however, that you will not be taught as a beginner and work also needs to be submitted in the set time.
You will also not be considered as a student of the Foundation Course but as a student of the Course you specifically registered for.
You can actually start from any of our more advanced courses, such as Part 1 of the Bodices, Shirts & Dresses Course or the Jacket-Making & Trousers Course.
Well… you don’t have to learn how to sew to run a fashion business but it is important to understand the process so you can guide your production team. So I would advise you register for the Foundation Course or one of the Short Courses and when you are confident you have learnt enough, you can switch to our Fashion Entrepreneurship Course to learn how to start a clothing line.
We used to run a Patternmaking Course but sadly this has been discontinued.
No. We believe students need time to complete their assignments and also need time for self-study and research. Besides, time away from class can be spent practising what you have learnt on people and charging for your services. If you use this time wisely, you should be able to make the money you spent on registering for the Course back in no time
We really wish but the fees for the Course are fixed. In fact, they are so priced due to shared costs.
Payment of the registration fees by cash or online using our website
It depends on the time-table. We often work on a structured curriculum but I am sure we can make a plan for you if you miss a start date. If the Course is a Sewing Course, we can run your own timetable for you.
We begin a new stream as soon as we have concluded a current Stream, depending on the option chosen. Please watch out for our posts on subsequent start dates.
We look forward to you joining us.
